A little help.

Let’s get you back to learning. Find an answer below, or write to us about what is happening.

Signing in

Where is my sign-in email?

Check that you entered the right address, then look in spam or junk for an email from Flashcard Loop. Use the newest email if you requested more than one.

Return to the app and choose Send a new code when that option is available. Never share a sign-in code or link with anyone, including support.

Can I use a code instead of the email link?

Yes. Enter the code from the email on the app’s verification screen. Open an email link on the device where you requested it. If the link has expired or was opened on a different device, request a new email or use its code in the app.

Why do I see a different account after signing in?

Use the same sign-in method and account you used when creating your cards. If you chose Hide My Email with Sign in with Apple, Apple may have supplied a private relay address.

Contact us if you cannot locate your account. Do not send your Apple password, sign-in code, or payment details.

Cards and progress

How do I make cards from a document?

Choose Upload document on Today or in your Library. Select one PDF, DOCX, or text file, up to 10 MB, then choose Generate cards. Read the sharing notice and choose Agree & generate to continue. Choosing Not now keeps your file selection on the device. Picking a file alone does not send it for generation.

Keep the app open until the upload finishes. After that, return to Upload document → Your recent imports to follow the saved job. When drafts are ready, edit their wording, select the cards to keep, choose or create a deck, and save. Use Add your own card to write an extra question and answer in the same review. Your cards appear above the generated drafts and can be edited, deselected or removed before saving together. Writing your own card does not use another AI import.

The feature creates up to 20 drafts. PDF vision can read clear scans and diagrams, but AI can misread them. Review the questions, answers, and extracted references against your original before studying. How document processing uses your data.

Can I paste questions and answers instead?

Choose Paste questions and answers on Today, or open a deck and choose Extract cards from notes. Use explicit pairs such as “Q:” and “A:”, or “Term: Definition”.

This separate tool organizes the text on your device. It does not call generative AI or fact-check your answers. Review and save the cards you want.

What does the source excerpt show?

View source excerpt shows text used to generate the card and the document’s filename. For a PDF, that text may be an AI reading of page text or an AI description of a scan or diagram.

It is not an independently verified transcription or a guarantee that the answer is correct. Compare important details with your original. Excerpts do not include page citations, and editing a card does not change the stored extraction it came from.

Why could my document not be read?

Use a PDF, DOCX, or UTF-8 text file. Unlock password-protected files and try a smaller chapter if the document is too large or complex.

PDF vision supports scans and diagrams when the content is readable. Blurry, cropped, faint, or complex pages may be misread or may fail. Try a clearer copy and follow the recovery message in the app. Processing time and the number of useful cards vary by document.

What if an import is interrupted?

After a completed upload, processing can continue while the app is closed. Reopen Upload document and select the file under Your recent imports. Your draft edits and selections are saved on the device where you make them.

If the app says the upload did not finish, cancel that unfinished import and choose the file again. For a connection error, choose Try again. If saving draft edits fails, retry before leaving the review screen.

Does cancelling remove my document?

Cancel import stops unfinished work and requests cleanup of the raw upload. Cleanup may need retries, and import history or already-extracted text may remain. It does not remove a completed import or cards already in a deck.

To request removal of a completed import, contact us. Account deletion removes account-owned documents and import records when it completes. See retention and deletion.

How many documents can I import?

The launch allowance is 2 document imports per calendar month on Free and 25 on Pro. The app shows your remaining imports and reset date. Allowances follow UTC calendar months, separately from your subscription renewal and the number of cards you can keep.

Selecting a file does not consume an import. PDF vision is already an AI processing attempt. If vision starts, a later extraction failure or cancellation may still use an import, even if no cards are produced. The same applies once card generation starts for another format. Using up document imports does not stop reviews or manual card creation within your card allowance.

Can I study offline?

After signing in and syncing your cards, you can review saved cards and make edits without a connection. Those changes wait on the device until it reconnects.

Open Settings to check sync status. Sync before signing out, deleting the app, or moving to another device so unsynced work is not lost.

What if my changes have not synced?

Check your connection, open Settings, and retry sync. If the same card changed on two devices, the app asks which version to keep.

New cards over the free limit may be waiting for your plan to update. Existing cards and reviews can still sync. Delete cards to make room or upgrade, then retry the waiting cards.

What happens at 100 cards?

The free plan allows 100 active cards in total across your decks. Reviewing and editing existing cards remain available. A reversed card counts as another card. Delete cards you no longer need to make room, or choose Pro for unlimited active cards.

Your subscription

How do I restore Pro?

Sign in to the Flashcard Loop account linked to your subscription and make sure your device uses the Apple Account that made the purchase. Open the Pro screen and choose Restore purchases.

If a purchase is pending approval, Pro becomes available after Apple approves it and your access is verified. Contact us if an approved purchase still does not appear.

How do I cancel renewal?

On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Flashcard Loop, then cancel the subscription. You can also open subscription management from the app’s plan screen.

Deleting the app or your Flashcard Loop account does not cancel a subscription. After cancellation, access normally continues through the paid period. Apple’s cancellation instructions.

How do I request a refund?

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. Use Apple’s Report a Problem service to submit a request. Eligibility and decisions are determined by Apple and applicable law.

Deleting your account

In Flashcard Loop, open Settings → Delete account. Read the confirmation, type DELETE, and confirm permanent deletion.

This removes your active account, decks, cards, study progress, and associated uploaded documents and import records once deletion completes. It cannot be undone. If cleanup is interrupted, reopen the app and follow its retry instructions.

Cancel any App Store subscription separately. If you cannot access your account, email us from the associated address. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. See the privacy policy for retention details.
