Using Flashcard Loop

This page explains the planned service terms for Flashcard Loop and this website during the pre-release period. Contact [email protected] with questions.

Flashcard Loop helps you create flashcards, request draft cards from documents, review using spaced repetition, and sync study progress. You are responsible for checking your material. The service does not promise a particular grade, exam result, or learning outcome and does not replace professional advice.

Age and your account

You must be at least 13 to use Flashcard Loop. You must also meet any higher minimum age required where you live and obtain a parent’s or guardian’s permission where required. The service is not intended for children under 13.

Use an email address or Apple Account you control. Keep sign-in links, codes, and access to your account private. Tell us if you believe someone is using your account without permission.

Your cards and notes

You retain ownership of the content you provide. You give Flashcard Loop and the providers needed to operate the service permission to store, copy, convert, process, and display it to provide the functions you request, including document generation and syncing between your devices.

Upload only material you have the right to use. Do not submit unlawful content, infringe others’ intellectual-property or privacy rights, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, or evade account, import, or subscription limits.

Document imports send the selected file to our private storage and processing service. Original PDFs are sent through OpenRouter to Google Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite for native PDF vision. Its extracted text and visual descriptions are used to generate cards. DOCX uses Cloudflare document conversion; TXT is decoded as text before card generation. See our privacy disclosure before requesting generation.

Generated drafts can be incomplete or wrong. For PDFs, an excerpt may come from AI-extracted text or an AI description of a visual. It is not an independently verified transcription, a guarantee of accuracy, or a page citation. Review the wording and choose which cards to save. The separate pasted-question tool organizes explicit question-and-answer pairs on your device without generative AI.

Free and Pro access

Free accounts can keep up to 100 active cards in total across their decks and review existing cards without a review limit. Reversed cards count separately. Pro provides unlimited active cards while access is active.

Document generation has a separate monthly allowance: 2 imports per calendar month on Free and 25 on Pro. One file can produce up to 20 drafts. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month in UTC, separately from your subscription renewal date. The app shows your remaining allowance and reset date. Selecting a file alone does not use an import; an import may still count if it is cancelled or fails after AI processing has begun. PDF vision starts AI processing, so a failed PDF extraction after vision starts may consume an included import even if no cards result.

Document imports are not unlimited on Pro. Saving generated cards still follows your card allowance. If Pro ends and you have more than 100 cards, existing cards remain available for review and editing; reduce the active count or renew Pro before adding more. Your future document allowance follows your current plan.

Subscriptions and payments

At launch, Flashcard Loop Pro will be offered as a monthly, automatically renewing subscription. The planned US price is $5.99 USD per month. The App Store displays your local price, billing period, and applicable taxes before you confirm a purchase. No annual plan or free trial is currently offered.

Apple charges the Apple Account used for the purchase. The subscription renews unless you cancel before the renewal deadline shown by Apple. To avoid the next charge, turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple may charge for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Manage or cancel through iPhone or iPad Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Canceling renewal normally keeps Pro active until the paid period ends. Deleting the app or your Flashcard Loop account does not cancel the subscription.

Use Restore purchases in the app to recover eligible access with the Apple Account used for purchase. Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests under its terms and applicable law. Cancellation help · Request a refund from Apple.

Any future price or plan changes will be shown with the notice and consent required by the store and applicable law.

Sync and service access

Sign-in, document upload and generation, synchronization, and purchase verification need a connection. Saved cards can be reviewed offline. Changes remain on that device until they sync, so check sync status before signing out, deleting the app, or changing devices.

The first document release accepts PDF, DOCX, and UTF-8 text files up to 10 MB, subject to readable-text and processing limits. PDF vision can process readable scans and diagrams, but it does not guarantee accurate recognition of every page. There is no guaranteed page count, processing time, or minimum number of generated cards. Use the specific recovery guidance shown for a failed import.

Features may change, and outages or errors can occur. We may suspend access when reasonably needed to address misuse, security risks, or legal obligations, with notice when appropriate and feasible. Nothing here takes away rights or remedies under applicable consumer law.

Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account in Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your active account, associated study and import records, and account-owned uploaded files once deletion completes. See our privacy policy for information about limited records that may be retained.

Cancel an App Store subscription separately if you do not want further renewals. Contact support if you cannot access your account.

App license and changes

The license to the iOS and iPadOS app is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These service terms supplement that license and do not replace Apple’s terms for store purchases.

We may revise these service terms as the product changes. We will update the revision date and provide additional notice when required. Contact [email protected] with questions.
